Tech Presentations

The tech presentions by my peers were good and interesting. I am amazed at what some of them are able to do. The lab time has been valuable in terms of having the space and time to complete assignments. Technology is a heavy load. It is not to be taken lightly.

Professional Development

Today was a heavy day in class. The content was professional development. There are so many resources out there. As a result of this class, I know of additional places that I can get professional development online.As a teacher, I feel pressure to meet professional development requirements. Teachers must complete a specific amount of professional development in order to renew certification.

Today, I will use my time in the computer lab to complete my teacher resource project for my Technology Class. This is my favorite assignment because I must do research on teacher tools. It is fun discovering new tech tools!

Technology & the Law

I learned some interesting stuff about technology and the law today. It did not occur to me that the FCC is involved.   I did not know that poor school districts received a subsidy for their internet/phone usage.  The more that I learn about technology, the more I realize that one must be aware of the law because ignorance will not absolve me. The technology piece provided me with additional perspective regarding the responsibilities of administrators. 

Jigsaw

Tech class was ok. The jigsaw activity was fun.  The professor divided the class into groups and had us present a chapter. All groups used technology. The presentations were creative. I learned about different notetaking strategies. It is important to select the appropriate methods of notetaking!

Tech Tools

Wow!  We played with a lot of tech tools in class tonight!  The main drawback is that some of them are expensive! I will probably pick one or two and practice until I have mastered them. I will learn enough about the others so that I can share them with others! It is criminal NOT to share resources in education.

Kennedy Art Gallery

Another great day in class. Dennis introduced the Kennedy Art Gallery online portfolios.  This is great. I do not have enough room to post all student work in my classroom. With electronic portfolios. I can post all of it! I hope!  LOL
